Strategic Design for Revitalizing the Amalfi Coast Terrace Landscape

This project was awarded the 2023 World Landscape Architecture (WLA) Student Award in the Concept Analysis & Planning category.
Terrace landscapes, once prosperous in agriculture, now face deterioration due to weather, urbanization, industry, and over-tourism. Despite recent attention, implementing commercial policies has made it difficult for locals to adapt, making reviving terraced heritage challenging.
Amalfi Coast terraces face similar challenges, with traditional agricultural areas being threatened by urbanization and other industrial developments, which influence the locals' homes, economy, culture, and tourism.
This project proposes a set of strategies to help related stakeholders better understand and interact with the coastal terraces, together co-creating a resilient and culturally rooted identity.
